|Description:||The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the Oracle DB infrastructure including:|
- Maintenance and support
- Development and design
- Data integrity
- Data security and backups
- Reporting and archival
Travel as required by position.
This position may require proof of a valid drivers license and insurance
Must have a valid passport with ability to travel between the US and Canada

|Duties:|| Provide operational management and support of Oracle databases in multiple environments|
Participate in 24x7 operational on-call rotation scheme for production support
Provide design support to teams involved in application development, testing and implementation.
Prepare status reports to accurately communicate progress; provide early notification of problems that could affect schedules, or the integrity or availability of data.
Coordinate with various teams and external contacts to ensure production and support deadlines are met
Available for monthly maintenance windows, and ad-hoc requests for operational support outside of normal business hours
|Qualifications:||Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:|
Expert DB tuning and troubleshooting abilities
Exceptional SQL fluency
Programming and scripting (PL/SQL, bash shell)
Knowledge of Java platforms and middleware (e.g. Java, JDBC, Tomcat)
Strong process and deployment procedure skills. Ability to plan and track changes through multiple environments (Dev, QA, Staging, Production)
Competent with Oracle licensing terms and requirements
Ability to lead technical discussions and projects in an organized manner
Ability to drive problem resolution to root cause
Ability to document strategies and designs and present to these ideas to management with cost/benefit analysis
Must be able to manage time effectively and to deliver on commitments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to operate well in a team environment and under pressure
Familiarity and experience with Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards
Credentials and Experience:
8+ years of IT experience, including Linux administration preferably with Redhat
6+ years experience in managing relational database systems with at least 4 years supporting Oracle platforms
Oracle DBA experience including these areas of focus:
Exadata and Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)
11g RAC setup, administration and maintenance
Advanced Data Guard
OEM Grid Control
Experience with a data modeling tools
Large database support (1TB+)
Large user base support (5k+)
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL are a useful asset but not the primary focus of this position.
